Central Elementary School is truly your hometown elementary school. Built in 1950, and meticulously maintained, we are proud of the legacy of students that have passed through our doors. We know when you visit you will not only witness a world class curriculum, but will also feel our Trojan Pride.

Welcome Home!

  • Beginning in 2011, we have been actively engaged in the implementation of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP). This program aligns with our district and school goals. The PYP provides children with an exemplary, rigorous instructional program that develops strong academic, personal and social skills necessary for future success. Our students learn foundation skills and extend their knowledge through inquiry-based learning. They also learn responsible citizenship and collaborative skills that are needed in the modern workplace. International mindedness is encouraged as children use technology for research and to share learning with other children around the world.
  • This summer, Central School Teachers were a part of an intensive Project Lead the Way training which will expand our innovative practices in regards to science, technology, engineering, and math. As a part of this initiative teachers are preparing to explore 3-D printing with students as young as kindergarten!
  • Central is an official Building Health Communities school, and has partnered with Wayne State University to establish the knowledge and behaviors needed for a healthy lifestyle for all of our students.
  • All Central Elementary students receive instruction in global studies which will focus on Russia this year.

I invite you to visit Central Elementary, volunteer and become a part of our community! We love sharing our excitement for learning, and welcome your participation at any time! You can follow my principal adventures on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.
